Casio to Launch Two New G-SHOCK Watches with MADNESS and ASICSTIGER

13 July 2018 – With the 35th anniversary celebrations for the iconic G-SHOCK in full swing around the globe, CASIO Singapore is proud to announce that it will launch two new collaborative models with two of the hottest and most prominent fashion labels, MADNESS and ASICSTIGER.

Each fashion label teamed up with Casio to launch co-branded limited editions of the G-SHOCK watch, which melds the stylishness of the brands with the toughness of G-SHOCK into perfect blends for the modern urbanite.

“The G-SHOCK and ASICSTIGER brands are built on delivering high quality products that don’t compromise on style. This partnership allows us to give our street-savvy audiences the look they want with the function they need,” Takashi Uema, manager of G-SHOCK Marketing and Communication section commented on the collaboration with ASICSTIGER.

G-SHOCK x MADNESS

G-SHOCK DW-5000MD

The new limited edition DW-5000MD is a throwback to the very first G-SHOCK, with its square resin-clad case and tough, no-nonsense design. MADNESS has put its own military-inspired twist on the watch’s design, making it an indispensable companion on the wrist for urbanites prowling the concrete jungle. Right off the bat, the black-on-green colour scheme already exudes seriousness while subtly referencing military fatigues. A simple diamond grid motif on the flange around the LCD enhances this with its geometric pattern, while also providing visual interest and anchoring the brand’s diamond-shaped logo to the watch.

In keeping with the theme, MADNESS’s branding on the watch is bold, yet simple. The label’s signature and slogan are proudly on display on the dial and engraved case back, with one last surprise coming from the LCD – activating its backlight also reveals MADNESS’s logo.

Priced at S$269 each, the limited edition DW-5000MD will be available exclusively at the G-Factory outlet in Plaza Singapura (#03-63) from 15 July 2018 onwards.

G-SHOCK x ASICSTIGER

G-SHOCK GBA-800AT-1A and ASICSTIGER GEL-MAI KNIT H8P2N

The new GBA-800AT-1A is based on the recently released GBA-800, and comes in a stark black-and-white colourway with red accents to match any outfit. The active urbanite will appreciate the watch’s step-tracker function, currently CASIO’s most advanced and accurate yet, which makes monitoring one’s activity levels a cinch. The G-SHOCK’s legendary toughness is a given here, of course – this watch will relish and survive any shock and impact thrown at it, in ways that no other watch can. The watch can also be paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth to unlock its full suite of functions, including detailed activity level reports and timed workouts.

The GBA-800AT-1A is matched by ASICSTIGER’s new GEL-MAI KNIT, which comes in stark black or white colourways with dashes of crimson – just like the watch. The shoe embodies the functionality of G-SHOCK with leather accents on the upper for wear resistance, water-repellent PlasmaGuard on the pro-knit upper, and a rubber outsole that helps wearers grab the ground. GEL-MAI’s signature asymmetrical lacing system gives the shoe a unique style, while fuzeGEL technology provides cushioning.

The special edition collection debuted in Japan on 22nd June 2018, before launching in Europe on 29 June. The G-SHOCK x ASICSTIGER GBA-800 will be available at G-Factory ION Orchard, Bugis Junction, VivoCity and Tampines Mall from 21 July 2018 onwards. Meanwhile, the ASICSTIGER GEL-MAI KNIT is available in Singapore since 29 June at Limited Edt Vault and Star 360 Suntec outlet.
