Tokyo, August 29, 2019 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today that Nippon Hotel Co., Ltd., which manages the hotel operations of the JR-East Group, has decided to equip all 265 rooms in its “mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection” (hereafter “mesm Tokyo”*1) hotel with a Privia PX-S1000BK digital piano. mesm Tokyo is scheduled to open in Takeshiba, Tokyo in April 2020.

  • *1 Based on the concept of “TOKYO WAVES,” “mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection” is the future of lifestyle luxury hotels, providing guests with new discoveries via services and content rooted firmly in Tokyo’s ever-changing “now,” incorporating the city’s atmosphere, its flow of people, integration of tradition and innovation, and new value standards.

mesm Tokyo plans to collaborate with various companies to provide “Japan quality” to guests by offering them experiences that mesmerize all five senses. As part of this experience, mesm Tokyo has decided to equip all rooms with a digital piano to indulge guests’ auditory sensibilities and allow them to enjoy playing music. All 265 guest rooms will be furnished with the PX-S1000BK, chosen for its high-quality key touch, beautiful tone, and slim, stylish design—the slimmest depth from front to back*2 in the digital piano industry.

  • *2 Among digital pianos with 88 hammer-action keys and built-in speakers, Casio survey as of August 29, 2019.

Seeking to spread the joy of playing music far and wide, Casio will continue to promote the PX-S1000BK to enable as many people as possible to experience the joy of music.

Casio went back to the original Privia concept of a “Private Piano” that people could enjoy playing in their own rooms. The result was the PX-S1000BK, which features a slim, stylish body that differentiates it from conventional digital pianos while still reproducing the beautiful sound and natural playing feel of a grand piano. With the newly added Bluetooth® audio playback function, users can now use the piano not only as Bluetooth® speakers, but also for playing along with their favorite songs.
