Welcome to a one-of-a-kind watch inspired by Tokyo twilight. Directly descended from the classic G-SHOCK DW-5000C, this special duotone edition is born of a revolution in color design. The iconic square face gets a new look with a stainless steel case in purple, the latest addition to Casio color ion plating. Alternating purple and blue-gray ion plating on the stainless steel watchband evokes the shades of the urban skyline at dusk. Add in purple accents on the dial combined with the negative mode LCD for a sophisticated, entirely original design.

Tokyo twilight inspiration:
New shade of purple IP

The watch exterior sports a two-tone finish, with the stainless steel components coloured individually with two shades of ion plating. For the main colour adorning the bezel and case, we developed a new shade of purple IP with a lustrous gleam. Together with the dark blue IP applied to the band and side buttons, the overall effect evokes the beautiful look and feel of Tokyo at twilight.

The square face design of the very first G-SHOCK, now with negative mode LCD. Subtle splashes of colour adorn the glass — from purple and blue to orange — for a look of urban sophistication.

Intricately shaped bezel components are carefully polished to emphasize the stainless steel’s hard texture. Finishing accentuates the beautiful colouration achieved with ion plating and brings out the lustre of the two-toned metal exterior.

Truth to origin and constant innovation: Full metal shock-resistant structure

Buffering components made of fine resin are installed between the stainless-steel bezel and case. With its metal exterior in the original form of the very first G-SHOCK, the watch makes the most of its shock-resistant structure.

DLC coated screw-lock back case for a tight seal

Like the very first G-SHOCK model, the GMW-B5000PB uses a robust screw-lock back case that ensures a tight seal. The bevels are mirror-finished and the entire watch is coated in diamond-like carbon (DLC) to enhance abrasion resistance.

Newly designed band connector for metal

The GMW-B5000PB sports the same band design of the first model, while reproducing the dimple processing and other details of the original resin band, but now in metal. The connector is three-pronged to provide extra strength to bear the increased weight of metal.
