Tokyo, July 7, 2021 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the upcoming release of the PX-S1100 and PX-S3100, two new additions to its Privia lineup of digital pianos. Both new pianos boast the world’s shortest depth from front to back *1 in a slim design that complements any kind of interior space, while delivering even more of the feel of playing a grand piano thanks to improved sound expression and audio system.
- *1 Among digital pianos with 88 hammer-action keys and built-in speakers, Casio survey as of July 7, 2021.
In 2019, Casio launched the PX-S1000 and PX-S3000, which offered a slim 232mm depth and minimalist design while providing the playing comfort and sound of a grand piano. With so many people spending more time at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, many people around the world turned to these pianos to add some music to their lives. Their popularity was driven by their ease of use and clean design — people can enjoy owning and playing a piano without taking up hardly any space in their living environment.
The new PX-S1100 and PX-S3100 inherit the popular design concept and playing comfort of the previous models while further improving expression across the entire range from low to high pitches. Casio revisited the speakers’ internal structure, adding a sense of airiness, localization, and clarity to the sound, and making it richer. While the design is minimalist and clean, the refined gold-colored lettering on the body and other nice touches lend a higher grade of elegance to its appearance.
The PX-S1100 and PX-S3100 not only come with the Wireless MIDI & Audio Adaptor to play the user’s favorite songs as a Bluetooth ® speaker, but can also be connected wirelessly to compatible devices using the Bluetooth ® Low Energy MIDI function, thereby offering a wide range of ways to enjoy music in addition to performance, including self-learning and music production. Also, connecting to the dedicated Chordana Play for Piano *2 app makes it possible to intuitively change tone and function settings wirelessly.
- *2 To be available from end of August.

Main Features of the PX-S1100 and PX-S3100
A piano that users can easily enjoy, with a sophisticated design boasting the world’s slimmest depth
These two models make the most of the technology that Casio has developed over the years, delivering high-quality keyboard touch and sophisticated tone, but in a depth of only 232 mm, the same as the previous models. In addition, they come in three color variations: black, white and red, featuring a mirror-like, flat panel for the console with touch buttons for handling all settings, giving an advanced and minimalist impression to the design.
Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard combines compact profile with natural playing feel
The touch of grand piano keys in different pitch ranges varies with the differences in size and weight of the hammers for each of the 88 keys. Even with their slim profile, the PX-S1100 and PX-S3100 deliver a feeling of playing a grand piano made possibly by Casio’s meticulous key-by-key simulation of these subtle differences in touch.
Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source produces the beautiful sound of a grand piano
This sound source reflects changes in both volume and timbre, including the delicate expression of a piano’s complex structure, from the sound immediately after the key is struck, through its beautiful sustain, until it finally vanishes away. In addition, even the sound of the hammer action that occurs when playing a pianissimo note or when releasing a key, is tuned to the sound system of the PX-S1100 or PX-S3100, allowing users to express themselves with sensitivity, from gentle and delicate performances to dynamic and powerful performances.
Included Wireless MIDI & Audio Adaptor provides an enjoyable musical experience
■ Bluetooth ® Audio feature
Users can listen to their favorite songs played through the speakers of the PX-S1100 or PX-S3100, and can turn on the surround effect to enjoy the feeling of a live performance in their room. Users can also enjoy music as they like, for example by playing along with their favorite songs, for a do-it-yourself jam session.
■ Wireless remote control features with app connectivity
Users can connect the PX-S1100 or PX-S3100 to a smartphone or tablet wirelessly using the Wireless MIDI & Audio Adaptor and use the device as a remote piano controller to intuitively carry out various operations from the dedicated app screen, for example, to change the tone or play preset songs.
