Tokyo, July 19, 2019 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today that it will release the Casiotone CT-S200, a digital keyboard designed for superior portability and functionality. The new keyboard is easy to carry so users can enjoy making music in all kinds of locations.
The new CT-S200 keyboard features superior portability and mobile enjoyment made possible by its compact size of 930 mm × 256 mm × 73 mm, light weight of only 3.3kg, grip for one-handed carrying, and about 16 hours of operation with alkaline batteries. Casio has also made the new keyboard even easier to operate, for instance by employing a simple interface layout using a dial, offering a home button to allow users to return to the original screen at any time, and adding a button for saving users’ favorite musical tones and rhythms and immediately calling them up.
Meanwhile, the new speakers feature stronger magnets and a function that optimizes equalization in tandem with volume, delivering great sound that no one would expect from such a compact keyboard. The new keyboard also comes with features that enable users to enjoy music in diverse ways, such as the Dance Music Voices for dance music, and Chordana Play app connectivity to make practicing fun.
As a part of the new Casiotone lineup, Casio is also announcing the release of the CT-S300, a high-end model with a Touch Response keyboard; the CT-S100, an entry-level model; and the LK-S250, which has a key lighting system that guides users by lighting the next keys to play.

Driven by the desire to create musical instruments that anyone can easily enjoy playing, in January 1980 Casio released the Casiotone 201, a digital keyboard which could replicate the tones of a variety of instruments. This was the beginning of the company’s musical instrument business. Since then, Casio has developed many different products that enabled more and more people to easily and conveniently enjoy beautiful sound.
As it approaches its 40th anniversary in the musical instrument business in January 2020, Casio has revisited the beginnings of the business and revived the Casiotone name. Going forward, Casio will continue to expand the Casiotone lineup of digital keyboards that can be easily enjoyed by all kinds of people, aiming to spread the joy of playing music far and wide.
Main Features of CT-S200
Light weight and compact size for enjoying music more easily
With a compact size of 930 mm x 256 mm x 73 mm, and about 16 hours of operation with alkaline batteries, the CT-S200 lets users enjoy music wherever they like. The light weight of only 3.3 kg and the grip at the top of the keyboard make it very easy to carry.

Interface easy to use for everyone
The CT-S200 features a simple, intuitive interface, offering an organized layout with fewer buttons by using both a full dot LCD screen and dial. It is also equipped with a home button that lets users return to the original screen at any time, making for a superior multi-function keyboard with enhanced usability.

Sound no one would expect from such a compact keyboard
The use of 13 cm x 6 cm oval speakers with strengthened magnets delivers surprisingly great sound for such a compact instrument. An additional function that optimizes the equalizer in tandem with the volume provides balanced sound from the bass to the highs, even at low volumes.
Dance Music Mode and Voices expand ways to enjoy playing
The CT-S200 includes a mode that lets users put together drum, bass, and synthesizer phrases to easily enjoy dance music, as well as 12 types of Dance Music Voices that sound great with dance music. Just press along with the rhythm to add accents to ordinary playing and enjoy dance music.
Chordana Play app connectivity to make practicing fun
Connecting the CT-S200 to the Chordana Play app installed on a smartphone or tablet allows users to play the right notes, without reading a musical score, by striking keys in rhythm with the bars that come down from above. The app’s scoring feature gives practice the fun feel of a game.
