Accelerated digital processing has been made possible with a dual-pipeline processing circuit (2 CPUs + 2 ISPs*1) and a high-speed image processing DRP*2for applying the latest algorithms. This also contributes to improved white balance accuracy and even more appropriate color reproduction. Furthermore, the image processing system has evolved, maximizing the potential of the constant aperture F2.8 zoom lens and the 1/1.7-inch back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Together, they provide you with the means to capture even more expressive images.

NEW[ Constant aperture F2.8 through 28-300 mm*1lens ] Outstanding optical performance supporting high-speed technology

Incorporating a 28-300 mm*1lens, which retains F2.8 across the entire zoom range. Enables shooting at fast shutter speed, even when zooming in, and effectively prevents camera shake in dark places. Achieves a minimum shooting distance of approximately 5 cm*2and approximately 50 cm in telephoto mode. Enjoy exquisite blurring expression with a long focal length and bright lens.
Furthermore, stringent quality standards mean image quality is retained, with minimal degradation in every corner of the image.

[ 1/1.7-inch Back-illuminated CMOS Sensor ] for capturing clear images under low-light conditions

The larger sensor increases light reception and thanks to its back-illuminated structure, it more efficiently distributes incident light to the light receiving surface improving both sensitivity and noise reduction. This ensures bright, crisp and high resolution images when shooting at night or in dark rooms. An infrared filter cuts the ghosting caused by intense light that directly enters the lens, for example, sunlight or other bright light during daylight shooting or street lights and car headlights at night.

High-precision lens and sensor mounting technology

We use high-precision technology to align the lens and the CMOS sensor. This alignment also permits high-precision adjustments to suit the characteristics of each lens. By eliminating most of the misalignment of lens axis and sensor surface, we have suppressed blurring of the image on one side of the screen.
