For the collaborative Redman G-Shock model (AW-591RED), the entire design was executed in red, including the band, hands, and LCD, in keeping with the Redman name. The well-known AW-591 G-Shock, which combines analog and digital displays, was used as the basis for this collaborative model.
As evidence of this collaboration, an upside-down “N,” like the one found in the Redman logo, was added to the watchband. This watch seeks to embody the hard-edged songs as well as the captivating voice and personality of Redman.
Redman is an exceedingly popular hip-hop artist in the United States and Asia. He is also known for his work as an actor, as a designer of appealing characters, and for producing records for other artists under his real name, Reggie Nobel.
Casio wanted to do a collaborative model with Redman because his ability to succeed in various fields is a good match for the tough and versatile image of the G-Shock, and of course, because Redman himself is a G-Shock fan.
“G-Shock is tough and durable, but still raw to the core. I wanted a model that I could wear on my wrist with confidence”, said legendary rapper Redman. “To me, the color red represents taking it to the maximum, just like when I hit the stage. I give my fans my all at live shows—stage dives, all the hits, and the best performance they’ve seen.”
