Tokyo, August 18, 2008 – Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today that its flagship EXILIM digital camera, the EXILIM Pro EX-F1, has won the EISA Award for European Advanced Compact Camera 2008-2009. The EISA Awards are sponsored by Europe’s special interest magazine industry.
Casio’s EX-F1 is capable of ultra high-speed burst shooting at 60 shots per second, allowing photographers to capture every decisive instant of real-time action. The camera can also record high speed movies at a maximum of 1200 fps, a speed so fast that users can see movement that would otherwise be invisible to the human eye using ultra slow motion replay. With revolutionary capabilities like these, the EX-F1 represents an entirely new genre of digital camera. It gives photographers the freedom to shoot in previously unheard of ways, and is earning great praise and enjoying immense popularity.
The EISA Awards are granted under the auspices of the European Imaging and Sound Association, whose membership consists of 50 special interest magazines in fields such as photography, video and audio from 19 European countries. Considered very prestigious, EISA Awards recognize the most outstanding products sold in European countries over the past year.
The EISA Award received by the EX-F1, the European Advanced Compact Camera 2008-2009, recognizes the most advanced camera. In its commendation for the award, the EX-F1 received high marks for its original functions enabled by Casio’s revolutionary high-speed shooting technology, including of course the groundbreaking ultra high-speed burst shooting for still images, the high speed movie capture, and the Prerecord Still Image function, which takes images even before the user presses the shutter button.
The EISA Awards ceremony will be held on August 29 this year in Berlin, Germany. With the EISA Award, the EX-F1 has now won a total of three major European awards in the digital imaging field, including the Best Imaging Innovation Award from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) and an Innovation Award from the Digital Imaging Websites Association (DIWA).
The EX-F1 is only one example of Casio’s commitment to developing advanced products that make the most of the advantages of the digital camera. Casio will continue to leverage its highly original technologies with ingenuity and foresight to introduce market-leading products.
