BASEL, April 2, 2008 – Casio Computer Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce a new partnership with British F1 driver David Coulthard. Under the terms of the agreement, David Coulthard will become the brand ambassador for Casio’s EDIFICE brand of metal watches and Casio will benefit from a wide range of marketing rights.

Casio will introduce a completely new lineup of the EDIFICE watch series incorporating the latest technology and functions with the new motor sports. This new EDIFICE features a 1/100 second analog chronograph conveying a sense of speed and precision found in the finest sports cars.

As the lead driver for Red Bull Racing, David Coulthard is one of the most experienced drivers in Formula One with an outstanding record of thirteen Grand Prix victories and the fourth highest points total in Formula One history. His exceptional technical skills and intelligent driving make him the perfect ambassador for the EDIFICE lineup.

The EDIFICE series, with its concept of “speed and intelligence”, takes its inspiration from the speed and dynamism of motor sport and was created for the urbanite with a sophisticated and dynamic lifestyle. These high performance watches boast sturdy stainless steel case designs and refined functions including water resistance to 100 meters.

“I love the dynamic and sporty design. The use of carbon fiber on the dial is reminiscent of racing cars,” said David Coulthard. “The water resistance to 100 meters is also a useful feature for everyday use.”

The 2008 Formula One World Championship consists of 18 races and opened on March 16 in Melbourne, Australia.
