Introduces Two New Privia Digital Pianos
With
new sound source for more natural reproduction of grand
piano sound |

TOKYO,
January 19, 2007— Casio Computer Co., Ltd.,
announced plans today to introduce the PX-800 and PX-200,
two new models in its Privia series of distinctively
stylish digital pianos. The new Privia digital
pianos utilize Casio’s original new “Triple
Element AIF Sound Source” to provide richly expressive,
realistic performance.
Privia
digital pianos have won a popular following with their stylish
design and realistic piano performance. Thanks to a full
lineup of models to choose from and epoch-making reasonable
prices, more than 400,000 have been shipped worldwide since
Casio first introduced Privia in 2003.
The latest Privia offering, the PX-800 and PX-200,
achieves a more natural grand piano sound with the "Triple
Element AIF Sound Source,”*
which uses a filter circuit capable of better acoustic reproduction,
as well as a high-performance touch detection system (256
steps, double the steps in previous models) for much more
sensitive expression of musical dynamics. The maximum polyphony
is 128 notes, four times higher than previous models, and
the damper pedals no longer instantly cut off sound, for
a more natural, lingering sound. The pianos’ basic
performance has also been enhanced. Thanks to a large capacity
waveform memory twice the size of previous models, they
deliver highly realistic reproduction of grand piano sound.
Moreover, their acoustic resonance system reproduces the
harmonic effect of strings when damper pedals are used.
In addition to all this, the new SD memory card slot improves
flexibility for storing and reproducing music data. The
two models are briefly introduced below.

Triple
Element AIF (Acoustic & Intelligent Filtering
System) Sound Source
Filter circuit (patent pending) takes precise
sampling of concert grand piano sounds from
low to high registers to achieve smooth sound
decay across the entire frequency range, for
a more natural sound tone reproduction. Triple-element
system provides independent sampling of soft,
medium, and hard key strokes, for a rich expression
of musical dynamics. |
