TOKYO, July 04, 2006 — CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD., has
announced the release of Dolphin & Whale Eco-Research
Network models of its G-SHOCK and Baby-G watches. Part of
the proceeds from sales of these latest additions to the
G-SHOCK and Baby-G series will go to support environmental
protection initiatives in the fields of global studies,
research, and education on how dolphins and whales live.
Casio has been releasing official models ever since introducing
one to commemorate the 1994 International Dolphin and Whale
Conference held in Japan. Casio’s latest releases
support the 6th Dolphin & Whale Eco-Research Network,
a project in which the International Cetacean Education
Research Center (I.C.E.R.C.) of Japan plays a major role.
The two new models are the GW-206K, a shock-resistant diver’s
watch that is water resistant up to 200 m down, and the
BGR-290K, an attractive model with a light pink body that
is waterproof up to 20 atmospheres. Both models feature
Tough Solar, a high-capacity solar power system developed
with environmental considerations in mind. They come engraved
with a symbolic mark on the back including the words, “ALL
AS ONE,” expressing the way that human beings, dolphins,
whales, all of nature and life itself are woven together
in a beautiful living symphony on our precious Earth. |
