G-SHOCK and Baby-G a Statement in Caring
Dolphin
and Whale Motifs Underscore Environmental Message |
 |

May 25, 2005, Tokyo, Japan -- Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced the
release of the newest additions to the G-SHOCK and Baby-G lines with
the environmentally themed Dolphin and Whale models. These represent
the latest in Casio’s eleven-year contribution to the support
of the natural environment, with a portion of the sales being donated
to the International Cetacean Education & Research Center (I.C.E.R.C.).
The I.C.E.R.C. promotes awareness of the interrelationship between
Nature, the Earth, and humans. Since 1991, the I.C.E.R.C. has conducted
research and disseminated information around the world on dolphins,
whales, and the marine environment. Since 1994 Casio has supported
the I.C.E.R.C. and hopes these new additions to the popular G-SHOCK
and Baby-G lines will not only promote awareness of I.C.E.R.C. activities,
but also foster concern for the marine environment.
The new G-SHOCK and Baby-G are the
latest in making a fashion statement about caring for the
earth. The G-SHOCK features a sperm-whale design printed
on a light gray band as well as in the EL backlight. The
Baby-G features a bottle-nosed dolphin design printed on
a white band as well as in the EL backlight. The asymmetrical
design is Casio’s FROGMAN, a diving watch that has
attracted a strong global following among divers and features
ISO standard 200-meter water resistance. Both watches have
engravings on the back cover depicting humans, dolphins,
and whales swimming together representing the concept that
all living things on the planet are part of the same global
family—expressed both on the cover and the band as
“All as One.”
The Dolphin & Whale G-SHOCK and Baby-G watches are the prefect
blend of functionality, fashion, and environmental awareness that
tell more than time—they remind us that we share responsibility
and respect for our Mother Earth. |
