Speaking on this launch Mr. Kulbhushan Seth, Vice President, Casio India said, “Casio has pioneered the eco-friendly lamp free technology and in extension to this new affordable Casio’s XJ-V1 projector has been launched. Primarily this projector has been launched to spread latest technology - laser LED hybrid mercury free green projectors amongst masses. Especially heavy users like schools, institutions & offices can upgrade to this greener technology at reasonable investment. Furthermore, total cost of ownership for this projector is lower than entry level mercury projectors because of 3 main reasons, firstly it consumes 50% lower electricity than mercury lamp projector means saving on electricity bill, secondly it saves on servicing charges because of its dust resistance design and thirdly its light source is having a life of approx. 20,000 hrs. means no lamp replacement which is required in mercury lamp projectors & saving on the cost of 4 lamp replacement (approx. cost of Rs. 8000 each).
With the help of greener technology the actual total cost of ownership in long term for this projector is lower than most of the entry level mercury lamp projectors. Moreover, in most of the cases XJ-V1 can be easily mounted on the existing clamp which is an added advantage for quick and cost saving installation.. Furthermore, to make this greener technology more affordable, Mr. Seth has announced a buyback offer of Rs. 3000/- for the consumers willing to replace existing mercury lamp projectors with Casio’s Greener technology with XJ-V1

EcoLite™ is powered by Casio's 5th generation LASER & LED Hybrid Light Source technology. This LampFree® light source combines a laser, fluorescent element and LEDs to generate high brightness and a 20,000 hour estimated lifespan with minimal brightness degradation and continuous operation. It also provides a 30 percent increase in LED light output, thus offering a greater increase in color spectrum when compared to a mercury lamp. Casio's LampFree® projectors consume half the amount of power per unit than traditional lamp-based projectors. Power consumption with the brightest setting is only 180 watts and eco modes can reduce power consumption up to 50 percent. Casio's LampFree™ technology also eliminates the need to replace expensive and hazardous mercury lamps which makes them cost effective and safer for the environment.

Casio's EcoLite™ XJ-V1 projector features a throw ratio of 1.54-1.7: 1, produces 2700 lumens of brightness, and boasts XGA (1024 x 768) resolution which is suitable for displaying content from video and computer sources. It also features inputs for RGB and HDMI and includes a Variable audio output for external audio & Dust resistance structure.

Dust resistance

Casio's EcoLite™ projector comes with a standard three (3) year (Main Projector Unit) warranty plus a five (5) year or 10,000 hour warranty on the Hybrid Laser & LED light source.

Lamp-free projectors at affordable price

High-brightness projectors equipped with Laser & LED hybrid light sources were until now restricted to the high end of the projector market due to their advanced technology. Casio has successfully developed a lamp-free projector at an affordable price, made possible by designing a new light source and projection lens among other innovations. The XJ-V1 promises to finally make Laser & LED hybrid projectors accessible to a much wider user base.

Easy upgrade from a conventional projector

Casio has designed the XJ-V1 so that users can easily replace their projectors equipped with a conventional high-pressure mercury lamp. The XJ-V1 mostly mounts using existing universal standard ceiling mount hardware to minimize investment and installation labor, meaning that the projector can be used the very day it arrives. The body has been refined to keep dust out and further shield the light source, in consideration of dusty environments.

Superior economic efficiency from a Laser & LED light source

With a Laser & LED hybrid light source that has a lifespan of 20,000 hours without needing to replace a lamp, and drawing approximately half the power, the XJ-V1 offers superior value with a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than a projector equipped with a high-pressure mercury lamp. Unlike a high-pressure mercury lamp, there is no wait time for the light source to become bright, nor is there a need for a cool-down period before turning the projector on again. The XJ-V1 reaches a maximum brightness in as fast as 5 seconds from the time the power is switched on. The projector completely powers off with just a touch of the button, and can be used right away when powered back on.

*2 Total cost of ownership (TCO) as estimated by Casio, including initial cost, lamp replacement, filter replacement, and power consumption.

*3 Compared with five-year TCO of a 2600 to 2800 lumen projector equipped with a high-pressure mercury lamp as estimated by Casio.

The XJ-V1 is manufactured by Yamagata Casio Co., Ltd., a Japanese-based manufacturing subsidiary in the Casio Group. By applying advanced production techniques developed over many years, Yamagata Casio ensured that the XJ-V1 achieves the full heights of “Japan Quality”.

Under the slogan of “Time to Go Lamp Free for Everyone !,” Casio is bringing out the XJ-V1 projector at an initial cost approaching that of a conventional projector equipped with a high-pressure mercury lamp,*4 in an effort to make Laser & LED hybrid projectors the mainstream standard in the market. The adoption of Laser & LED hybrid light sources will also reduce power consumption for lower CO2 emissions, and reduce the environmental impact of mercury use.
